It is the oldest synagogue in the state, home to the first permanent Jewish house of worship in Utah. It's completion in 1891 even predates the Salt Lake Temple.
A west-side community center once the only such recreational space fully open to Black Salt Lake City residents is up for inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places.
