Electric vehicles took center stage as Honda, Ford and Volkswagen won the 2025 North American, Car, Truck and Utility of the year awards Friday at an Automotive Press Association Event in Detroit.

The Ford Ranger was selected as the truck of the year at the Detroit Auto Show by the 50 jurors that judged the North American Car, Truck and Utility Vehicle Awards (NACTOY) for 2025. Winning the car of the year honours was the Honda Civic Hybrid while the new electric Volkswagen ID.
