A 3.7-magnitude earthquake shook the San Francisco Bay Area in Northern California, the U.S. Geological Survey reported. The about 5-mile deep quake hit about three miles northwest from the San Francisco Zoo, at 7:02 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 10, according to the USGS.

The San Francisco Peninsula shook three times in less than four hours on Friday, with all the earthquakes centered off Ocean Beach. The quakes of magnitude 3.6, 2.5 and 2.9 had epicenters 3 to 4 miles northwest of the San Francisco Zoo, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
