A company that monitors electrical activity says faults along the Los Angeles power grid soared in the same areas where three of this week’s major wildfires are occurring.

An electrical expert says his company's data shows that power grid faults spiked before the Los Angeles fires started.

The number of faults on the power grid near three of the major Los Angeles County fires skyrocketed in the hours before the blazes began, according to a company that monitors electrical activity.

A report identified a surge in power grid faults preceding three Los Angeles wildfires. Using 14,000 sensors, it detected 63 faults near the Palisades fire, 317 near Eaton, and 230 near Hurst—far exceeding the daily average of 2–3 faults.
